Improvements

Lok'tar!!

So it's been a while since I've been able to blog about my escapades in getting new upgrades for my gear. Well I am here to say that I am very pleased with my current progression. So far, I've been able to upgrade most of my armor piece
s. I finally received my meta gemable helmet from Heroic OK, got my Exalted gloves from Wymrest, and a few lucky drops here and there. All in all I have been able to effectively DPS in heroics.
Here's how I have been fairing in the heroics. In HoS I hit, at the time, huge milestone of reaching 2500+ DPS while also out DPSing my Warlock friend.

Just before the end of the Lunar Festival a group of 12 peeps including myself went out in search of one of our achievements to kill Omen. Now that was pure bliss, I wasn't the number one DPS'er, but I was very close. I was beaten by a fellow Shaman and guildie. The difference? He was Enhancement, hehe.

As I've said, I an truely happy with my current progression in my DPS. I just wish our guild had enough healers for our raids. I've been respeccing for that we can have 3 healers when we go into Naxx, OS, and Vault in an attempt to make the runs much easier and effective. Luckily I
am able to get both my spell dmg and, when specced for it, my healiung up to above 2000 with the right weapon enchant and totems. Here, you can see my unbuffed and buffed spell damage.

Hopefully, I will get enough badges soon to get my first taste of T7 gear, in either the form of gloves or the chest piece. Either will be nice, I'll take whichever will be the bigger upgrade.

They say this is soo hard....

Lok'Tar

Just a quick little update since I have no posted in a while. So, the infamous Hall of Lightning Heroic run is dubbed the hardest heroic before the raids (or even some of the raids). I logged in the other night to some guildies wanted to run it. So I said sure, if anything I'd get some badges and rep. Everything went pretty smooth on all bosses and then of course was Loken.

We 3 shooot him. First two attempts we seemed to experience lag a bit and the first time our healer went down, the second time I did. The Third time was pure teamwork at its finest. Cooldown all going off at the same time, the correct totems up during the entire fight. It was glorious.....

Don't beleive me? Go check out my acheivements on WoW Armoy. Until my next post....

A busy night.....

Lok'tar!

After being in a stump for the past week, I finally was able to ventured into some dungeons tonight. Sadly, none of the runs were Heroics, so I got pretty much nothing out of the runs, save for a few boes.

The first stop was the Culling of Stratholme. This was a very mixed up run. Afraid I don't remember all the classes that were there on this run. Upon falling victim to Meathook coming up from behind me and taking myself and then the group out, one of the group members decided to kick the poor level 75 Priest that was with us due to his lack of DPS. Now, albeit his dps was horrible at a mere 280, you've g
ot to understand, the boss was completely red for him still. Alas, he was booted and a hunter took his place. Round 2 with Meathook (and was all 5 people up) he went downed pretty fast. One person just had to proclaim how easy it was without the previous priest. *sigh* Some people just don't pay attention.
The rest of the run stayed uneventful til the end with the one person, I won't name names, that had greeded everything that was not useful for anyone. When asked to DE them, he simply replied, "I herb inscripe". This, of course, brought on a small heated arguement between this individual myself and the immediate bla
ck listing of him.

On to dungeon number two: Hall of Stone. Now this was a very fun run, although very very easy to do. It consisted of a 79 Prot Warrior, a Frost/Unholy Death Knight, Mage, and Priest. Nothing special on this run, however DPS on this one was much more noticable here. The DK of course having the highest DPS, where as I myself was 3rd. I did however maintain 1600 dps up until the 2nd to last boss. The pushback from him just totalled messed me up on my spell rotation. However, all was good, no wipes, no newbie mistakes.

Then the last and final dungeon of the night: Utgard Pinnacle. This run was pretty
much the same as the last. It was the exact same group except for the mage. Instead we recruited a Warlock for the new DPS slot. I was really annoyed by my DPS here. However I started to get my usual "wireless card lag" during one of the boss fights. This ultimately ruined my DPS as my casting was off a good 3 seconds due to the lag issues I was having. All in all, it was another good and easy run. No new gear, just some more enchanting mats.

Now, if anyone is wondering what my spell rotation is, its quite simple. My usual rotation is Flame Shock, Lava Burst, Chain lightning, Lightning Bolt, Earth Shock, LavaBurst, Chain lightning, and then rinse and repeat. Occasinally casting Thunderstorm to do any quick aoe damage as well as regain 8% of my mana, however I must be careful and use caution so that I do not push mobs into another group. Normally, this rotation lasts only through the first full casting on normal mobs before they are downed. The Flame shock on the target allows my Lava Burst to automatically crtically hit the target normally for 5500 to 6500 damage, depending on current buffs and cooldown uses.

This is all for my adventures in for the evening. I hope to be able to post something much more interesting the next time I am able. Until then.....

The Elemental Shaman still exists

Throm-ka!

I am Nekron, elemental Shaman of Chaos Brewing on Sen'jin.

I find it at time to be amazingly hard to find suitable gear for my spec. Most Shaman seem to go Enhance for DPS, which is all find and dandy. If I am grouped with a fellow shaman I would much rather he be Enhancement so we are not rolling for the same gear. Its always disheartening to go into a heroic and the only mail drops be Hunter/enhance Shaman pieces. And we all know if there's a caster ring the other caster dps/healers want a piece of that as well.

So, for the time being I am taking what I can get. And at the time being is rather odd. I currently have two piece of leather for spell power. Those items being the Leggings of the Winged Serpent and Ouroboros Belt. Like I said, I take what I can get. For a better look at my gear, feel free to see my character on WoW Armory.

Here to the left you can see my spell bonuses. This is as of 12/19/08 and while unbuffed. I can get spell damage bonus and my crit chance up a bit more with Flametongue Weapon and Totem of Wrath.

Now if you are wondering about my spec its 57/14/0. Seem odd? Well it works. I find it to be the most mana efficient spec. Having Shamanistic Focus combined with Clearcasting when it procs gives me shocks that only cost 10% of their mana. Which is quite often considering how often I crit with my lightning spells and having Lava Burst cast after I get a Flame Shock on a mob. Beautiful crit damage there.

Afraid I have no damage meter pics to post to show my dps in heroics. I'll be sure to get some for the next time I blog. Till then.....
